Jindo Island, in South Korea, is host to one of the world’s most amazing natural phenomenons, called the Moses Miracle. Two times a year, during a low tide, a land path 2.8 kilometers long and 40 meters wide is revealed, uniting the islands of Jindo and Modo for a period of one hour. A festival is dedicated to this natural wonder and people from all around the world attend every year. However the Moses Miracle was largely unknown until 1975, when a French ambassador visited South Korea and wrote about in a French Newspaper.

The legend behind this Korean phenomenon goes like this: a Jindo village was attacked by tigers and all the villagers ran to Modo island for shelter. All, except for a helpless old woman who was left behind, out of despair she prayed to the Sea God, who split the sea and helped her escape the bloodthirsty animals.

The Moses Miracle just took place on May 18th.

7ft Amazon Eve - World's Tallest Glamour Model

A super tall model who goes by the name of Amazon Eve as well as Babezilla, recently was featured in the Australian magazine Zoo Weekly for her first semi-clad shoot for a men's magazine. Eve, however, is not a true Aussie. She's actually from the United States, so it may not be long until she's gracing the men's magazines stateside.

Eve's MySpace page indicates that she is 205 to 210 pounds and has an athletic build. She is 6-foot-8-inches tall, rivaling the height of professional basketball players. She is from the Redondo Beach, California area and lists her occupation as "playmate". On another site she says that she is a personal trainer.

Other than her enormous height, another feature that makes Eve stand out is her fiery red hair. She lists interests as: fantasy wrestling, overpowering, role play, domination, scissors sessions, feats of strength, foot fetish, and tug of war.

Speaking with Zoo Weekly, Eve said: "I am more than willing to overpower men and wrestle or box them if requested. I want my session to be fun yet challenging with the guys, and a memorable session that doesn't cause injury."

The star topped the poll by the Guinness Book Of World Records.

Since her first outing as Hermione as a 10-year-old in 2001, she has amassed a £10million fortune and was recently placed sixth on Forbes' list of Hollywood's Most Valuable Young Stars.

World's Tallest Living Christmas Tree - Couer d'Alene Resort

“This year we are animating the world’s tallest living Christmas tree,” said Jerry Jaeger, president and co-owner of Hagadone Hospitality. “We will have thousands of lights all twinkling in time to the music of Jingle Bells.”

The tree will have more than 40,000 lights along with a 10-foot star at the top. Two miles of electrical wiring connect the LED lights, which use 90 percent less energy than conventional light bulbs. The 162-foot Grand Fir is more than twice as tall as New York’s Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.

"The Holiday Light Show is all about entertaining the family – and kids in particular," said Bill Reagan, general manager of The Coeur d’Alene Resort. “Watching the lights dance around the tree will be very exciting this year.”

Other new additions include several new lighted animal characters at The North Pole, which already includes Santa’s workshop, dancing elves, a village scene and reindeer, as well as the popular “Twelve Days of Christmas” sing-along display. Founded in 1986, the Holiday Light Show now includes more than 250 displays and 1.5 million lights, and has become a favorite Northwest holiday destination.

This year, Frosty the Snowman debuts as the official greeter for every nightly Journey to the North Pole cruise, confirmed Craig Brosenne, general manager of Hagadone Marine Group, which manages the Lake Coeur d’Alene Cruises fleet.

This year’s show will be greatly enhanced by the presence of Frosty the Snowman, who will greet every kid climbing on board,” Brosenne said. Other new live characters this year will be The Grinch, several elves and a reindeer.

Every child under the age of 12 rides for free on the Journey to the North Pole Cruise, where children are also treated to a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. The live characters call out the children’s names and lead cruise passengers in a countdown to light up the giant Christmas tree. Passengers are also treated to “magic snow” which falls on cue for each cruise regardless of time or temperature.

The show will be illuminated during the Coeur d’Alene Holiday Light Show Opening Ceremony on Nov. 27, starting at 5:30 p.m., which includes a lighted parade, Christmas carols, candle lighting and a gigantic fireworks show over Lake Coeur d’Alene.

Journey to the North Pole Cruises depart nightly to view the Holiday Light Show displays from Nov. 28-Jan. 1. The 40-minute cruises leave the dock at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., with boarding at The Boardwalk Marina 15 minutes prior to the cruise. Children 12 and under cruise for free, while adult tickets cost $15.75 and seniors (55+) are $14.75.<.p>

World's Smallest Mother Stacey Herald

The world's smallest mother, Stacey Herald, is celebrating the birth of her third baby. Doctors warned Stacey, who is just 2ft 4ins, it would be too dangerous for her to ever have children. But the determined 35-year-old defied medics to have a family and has given birth to three babies in the last three years.

Her new son Malachi was born eight weeks prematurely by caesarian section on November 28, weighing just 2lb 10oz.

Stacey, who has 34 stitches across her stomach, said: 'He's the most beautiful perfect boy I've ever seen.

'All I want to do is stay by his side.' She had been expected to give birth just before Christmas, but doctors decided it was not safe to let the pregnancy go any longer.

The mum of three from Kentucky, USA, has a rare genetic disorder called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, which causes brittle bones, underdeveloped lungs and stunted growth.

She uses a wheelchair but manages to care for daughters Kateri, three, and Makya, 18 months, with the help of husband Wil, 27, a trainee priest.

Stacey was told having children would risk her life because the pressure of the pregnancy would put too much pressure on her body and squash her internal organs.

But after marrying Wil, who is 5ft 9ins, in 2005, Stacey bravely decided to go ahead with her plans for a family.

'Mum told me I'd die, but I reminded her I was a miracle, and a baby would be a miracle, too,' she said.

Now the couple have three children and have not ruled out the possibility of more.

Baby Malachi, who is just five inches long, is being cared for at a hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, and will have to stay in an incubator for several months.

His sister Kateri, who has the same condition as Stacey, spent the first five months of her life in hospital.

Although most normal mothers would find three children under four a challenge, Stacey said Wil helps her care for them.

'Now Malachi is here, I can get about better and can feed and change the girls again,' she said.

'Anything I can't do, Wil can. He's great at getting up in the night and changing diapers and feeding the girls, he really is a blessing.' She added: 'Malachi is having trouble feeding and some circulation problems, but the doctors say he's doing well.

'I feel heartbroken every time we have to go home and leave him in the hospital.

'We're looking forward to the day he's strong enough to come home.

World Record for Japanese Paper Airplane Fly

In the world of competitive paper airplane throwing, a 20-second flight is exceptional, 25 or better is world class.Thirty is the stuff dreams are made of.

Only one man - Japanese paper airplane virtuoso Takuo Toda - has ever come close to breaking the 30-second barrier. On Sunday, he set a world record for a hand-launched plane made with only paper, but fell just short of the 30-second mark.

Toda, flying a 10-centimetre-long craft of his own design, made 10 attempts to break his own record of 27.9 seconds set earlier this year in Hiroshima but failed to best his previous mark, settling for a 26.1-second flight.
That was still the best ever recorded for a strictly paper-only craft. His 27.9 record was set with a plane that had tape on it.

"I felt a lot of pressure," he said after his paper airplane fly-off at a Japan Airlines hangar near Tokyo's Haneda Airport. "Everything is a factor - the moisture in the air, the temperature, the crowd."
Toda, an engineer, is the head of the Japan Origami Airplane Association and is virtually unmatched in his ability to fold paper aircraft.

In keeping with traditional rules of the ancient Japanese art of origami, he uses only one sheet of paper, which he does not cut or paste.

He flew two variations of his world record-setting paper airplane Sunday - the one he used to set the duration record in April and an updated version with a fin. His April mark was recognized by Guinness World Records.

He did not use tape Sunday, which is allowed by Guinness. He chose to forgo tape because he wanted to follow traditional origami rules. His 26.1 mark was the best ever for a plane without cellophane tape keeping it together. Toda had that previous best as well, just over 24 seconds.

"I will get the 30-second record," he said. "It's just a matter of time."

Toda said that the secret to throwing a paper airplane is to aim upward - not straight - so that it has time to gain altitude and slowly circle back to the ground. Toda appeared to be on his way to a record Sunday, but his second and best throw was ruled a foul because it hit a passenger jetliner parked nearby.

"It's really a sport," he said. "The throwing technique is very delicate."

Along with breaking the 30-second barrier, Toda said his next goal was to launch a paper airplane from space. With funding from Japan's space agency, JAXA, Toda and a team of scientists have designed a plane they believe can withstand the intense heat of re-entry.

One of Toda's designs was scheduled to be released from the International Space Station this year, but that plan fell through in part because of problems with devising a means of tracking the planes as they fell back to Earth.

Toda and his colleagues are currently trying to interest Chinese or Russian space officials in reviving the idea.

He has used 1000 tones of sand and around 36 hours in three days to complete this. He also used color sand to create the live images of Santa. In this event about 20 students of his Golden sand art institute are assisting him.

“Puri is the place where sand art started in the 14th century and the tourist inflow into Puri is another reason why I chose the awareness about global warming through Santas as the subject at this time of the year and I hope the sand sculpture of Santa clauses will place in “Limca Book of World Record,” Pattnaik said. Officials of Limca book of record has given me consent to create this sculpture.

World champion Sudarsan has participated in more than 39 international sand sculpture championships/ festivals across the world and won many awards for the country. This year he won the 1st USF at Germany. Last year he was also created World’s biggest sand Santa clause, Jesus Christ and longest Santa Clause at Puri beach which was placed in “Limca book of World record”. Through his art Sudarsan helped the tsunami victims in India, Earth quick victims, save the endangered Olive Ridley Turtles and spread awareness of the dangers of HIV-AIDS, polio and also tribute to train blast victims.

World's Most Expensive Christmas Bauble costs £82,000

The one-of-a-kind tree decoration is made of 18 carat white gold and is plastered with over one and half thousand stunning diamonds.

It is surrounded by two incredible rings featuring 188 red rubies and took all year to design and make.

The bauble is being unveiled tomorrow night, but is currently being kept under lock and key in Titchfield, Hampshire.

It is so valuable it is being kept in a steel-framed case surrounded by 6mm thick laminated glass.

The box is surrounded by a high tech microwave bubble, which sounds if it is broken, and even has an extra internal alarm which fills the shop with smoke if it goes off.

It was dreamt up by Mark Hussey, 38, the owner of 30-year-old family business Hallmark Jewellers.

He said: "It was never about the value of the bauble, we just wanted to do something special for Christmas.

"It was more about making something unique, but as we researched other amazing baubles we discovered the most expensive one was £26,874.

"We thought, why not see if we can beat it - but we were bowled over when it was valued at £82,000.

"I literally started working on it the day after Boxing Day, it really has been a year in the making.

"Just to give you an idea of the attention spent on it, over 130 hours were taken up just setting the gems in it.

"It's not really about whether we can sell it or not, we want it for a centrepiece for the shop.

"It would be absolutely fantastic if we could find the right person to buy it.

"But if I'm honest, if it's still here on Christmas Eve I'd love to put it on our Christmas tree."

The bauble features a snowflake-cut pattern among a hallmarked 18 carat white gold sphere which has been hand pave set with 1, 578 diamonds

Three one carat diamonds adorn the centre band of the decoration, which is orbited by two ruby encrusted rings.

It comes in a bespoke handmade wooden box complete with a stand and has been independently valued by the National Association of Goldsmiths.

The bauble was inspired by a snowflake Mark drew on December 27, 2008, which was then handgraved onto a silver dome in his village workshop.

It was then taken to Hatton Garden in London's Jewellery Quarter, where two 18 carat white gold halves were cast.

After they were filed down back in Titchfield they were joined by laser, a mould made and an 18 carat white gold version created.

Tiny pilot holes were drilled out of it then delicately raised for the diamonds and then repeated until the decoration was covered in gems.

The orbiting rings were made from a length of 18 carat fat gold wire shaped it into a round bangle and peppered with 188 rubies.

Steven Jordan FGA, DGA, who heads the team of valuers based at the London Assay Office and gave the bauble its astonishing price.

A spokesman for Guinness World Records said he was astonished to hear of the amazing decoration.

A spokesman said: "We would certainly like to hear from the owners so we can investigate this more."

Joe Cada - World Youngest Poker Champion set Record

Joe Cada became the youngest champion at the World Series of Poker’s richest event, as the 21-year-old community college dropout emerged from a field of almost 6,500 to claim the $8.55 million top prize in Las Vegas.

Cada beat out 46-year-old Darvin Moon, a self-employed logger from Maryland, in a head-to-head showdown to capture the No-Limit Texas Hold ‘Em world championship. The victory comes a year after Denmark’s Peter Eastgate won the event at 22.

An all-in by Cada with a pair of nines was called by Moon, who had a queen and jack. Two sevens, an eight, a two and king were drawn, improving neither player’s hand and giving Cada the title.

Cada started playing poker online at age 16 and left Macomb Community College in Michigan to become a professional gambler. This was his first time playing in the main event, the richest of more than 50 tournaments on a circuit founded in the 1970s.

Cada avoided elimination several times during the longest final table in series history. At one point over the weekend, he was down to $2.3 million in chips -- approximately one percent of the total among the nine players at the final table.

He worked his way back and came to the final showdown with $136 million in chips. Moon had $59 million.

Moon, who started playing poker just two years ago, receives $5.2 million as runner-up.

The $10,000 buy-in tournament began in July with 6,494 players. After eight days of competition, nine players advanced to the final table, which wasn’t completed until this month to allow television coverage to catch up.

The top nine finishers were guaranteed at least $1.26 million. Former Bear Stearns Co. executive Steven Begleiter placed sixth and earned $1.59 million.

World's Biggest Spider Web Found in Texas

Everything is bigger in Texas, and this monster spider web is no different.

Discovered by park rangers at Lake Tawakoni State Park in Texas, the football-field sized web is actually the result of millions of spiders working together. Strangely enough, spiders don't normally organize themselves in large social units, though so far their efforts have been incredibly successful.

Described as 'fairy-tale white' by the rangers who first arrived on the scene, the web is now a few shades darker as it is completely blanketed by ill-fated mosquitoes. The smorgasbord will likely continue until the autumn when the spiders short lives will come to an end.
